Tambor Christmas Bird Count 2015

January 16, 2016 by Nick Hawkins No Comment

On January 9th, 2015 we held the annual Tambor Bay Christmas Bird count. We had an excellent turnout and enjoyed a superb day of birding in the Tambor area. In total, 193 species were recorded with a total of 3613 individuals. This breaks our previous record of 191 species in 2013! Highlights of the count included an American coot, a new species added to the Tambor list that was found in the lagoons at Los Delfines. Another good find was a stub-tailed spadebill that was a new species for the Raptor Ridge area. Special thanks to the Tambor Tropical hotel and the H and B restaurant for hosting! A big thank-you to all who came out! Don’t forget about the Valentine’s Day birding festival on the 13th of February, hope to see you there!
